Fernie, Loved Forever

Fernie · Chicken

Fernie
Fernie was a Cornish Cross, a.k.a. a "broiler chicken." Bred to be slaughtered for food as a 6 week old baby, she was rescued from Kaporos and came to live at Sweet Peeps Microsanctuary in October 2019. Fernie loved to have her thighs scratched, to eat wild blackberries, to explore the forest with her sisters, and to nap in her person's arms. She developed severe arthritis this past year, which was when she started living in the house and using a wheelchair. She lived to be almost 7. I will love her forever.
